Soccer Pictures

We are having such a fun soccer season. Here are a few pictures we have taken.

A Boy and His Dog

I just couldn't resist sharing this adorable picture. Ryan wasn't really asleep but Ms. Brindle, exhausted after a day of soccer games, was definitely sleeping.

Party Time

This weekend the family gathered for a barbecue and birthday celebration for Magen. Greg and Catia hosted the event at their house. Both sides of the family were invited so we had all the cousins together. The weather was sunny and warm, perfect in my opinion. Rafael was the grill master; the food was delicious.
The cousins always enjoy the opportunity to get together for a party.

Magen celebrates her 13th Birthday. She requested a chocolate cake with chocolate frosting and chocolate filling. Thanks Costco!

Happy 13th Birthday Magen

It's so hard to believe that Magen is a true blue TEENAGER! She got a raw deal this year because not only is Steve out of town today but I have curriculum night at both the elementary school and the high school. Grandma came to take her shopping right after school and then some of her friends are getting together this evening for a little party. We will do a big family party this weekend.
HAPPY BIRTHDAY MAGEN
WE lOVE YOU!

Creature Feature

In April we finally succumbed to the pleadings of our children, especially Ryan, to get a dog. We decided to surprise Ryan for his birthday so the search began for the perfect puppy. Actually I didn't really want a puppy I wanted a dog that had already gone through the puppy stuff. I went to the humane society three or four times a week trying to find the "one". Finally after many weeks of searching I saw a dog that I thought was very pretty and she had a sweet face. She was the perfect size, big enough to go running with me but not too big, she is only about 50 pounds. When I saw the type of dog that she was (Mastiff/Boxer) I almost ran the other way but with some reassurance from the volunteers that she was full grown we decided to adopt her. Her name is Brindle and we all love her.

Brindle shares her bed with her cousin Snoopy who came for a visit. They ran around the backyard with wild abandon until they were exhausted. Aren't they cute?

Sports Weekend

If there was a theme for our weekend it would be sports, sports, sports. On Friday night Steve and I took Magen and Cameron to the Friday night football game between Skyview and Columbia River. We sat with our good friends the Scheidel's and watched our team (Columbia River) get killed. We still enjoyed the evening visiting with friend's. Soccer was the event for Saturday. Magen and Ryan both had their first soccer games of the season at 9:00 a.m. one in Ridgefield, the other in Battle Ground. Ryan scored the first goal of his game which his team won 11-0. Magen plays defense and did a great job sending the ball up the field when it came back to her. Her team was victorious with a score of 1-0. Mackenzie's game was at 1:00 so we had a chance to go home for a quick lunch before we headed to Camas. Mackenzie had a great game, she scored one of the three goals which tied the game at 3-3. Getting everyone to where they need to be is sometimes tricky but we love watching and cheering for our favorite soccer players.

What's A Blog?

Okay, I'll admit it, I'm a bit behind the times. I had heard of a blog but I had never read one and didn't really know what it was. Recently a friend of mine gave me a link to her blog which I really enjoyed reading. She explained that it is a neat way to keep in touch with family and friends and also a very effective way to keep a journal. I love the idea and so I am going to give it a try.
