At the end of December I was called as the Cub Master for the Cub Scout pack in our ward. My main responsibility is to plan a monthy pack meeting. For our meeting in January we went to the Fire Station. The firemen were great with the boys. They talked about safety and answered a variety of super cute "what if" questions. I decorated fire truck cookies for a treat. The boys had a fun time exploring the fire truck and watching the firemen put on their gear.
In February we held The Blue and Gold Banquet. Our theme was a Western Round Up. I made ribbons for the moms to collect their pins.
We decorated the tables with blue bandanas, yellow tissue paper flowers and little cowboys boots. We also used Mason jars and rope to decorate. The food tables had wheels on them to make them look like chuck wagons. For dinner we served sloppy joe's, chips and veggie's. We had a cake decorating contest and enjoyed the master pieces for dessert. It has been fun thinking about ways to recognize the boys for completing their achievements.
